Idaho has an unfortunate legacy of Aryan nations, the “homosexual witch hunt” of the Boise Children and, in recent times, conservatives have been determined to control people's bodies and censor education.
Despite this, I grew up surrounded by natural beauty: I spent summers camping in McCall, Idaho, rafting the Boise River, and winters skiing in Bogus Basin. The panelists for this session will discuss their professional experience working to document, preserve and promote local LGBTQ+ history in Idaho and Washington. By organizing diverse meetings in such a diverse area, attendees are exposed to a variety of perspectives, ideas, and experiences that they may not find in their everyday lives.
